Privacy statement
This privacy statement applies to your use of all features of Pert's
website.
Introduction
This statement outlines Pert's practices in relation to collecting, using
and disclosing information via its website.
In addition to this privacy statement, your use of Pert's website is
also subject to the following:
1. conditions of use which contain additional privacy information about
contributions you may make Pert's website
2. copyright notice.
Cookies and general website traffic
Pert uses technology called 'cookies' to record information about your
access to the website and to provide increased security. Cookies are small
pieces of information that can be stored on your hard drive (persistent
cookies) or in temporary memory (session cookies). Cookies do not contain
personal information and cannot be used to identify you.
Session cookies are used for:
security reasons, allowing you to be recognised once you have logged
into a secure part of the site such as the Shop
tracking the time you have spent on a site so as to enable a page to be
automatically locked after a specified time to prevent unauthorised access
to your credit card or other personal details
more accurately tracking visitor activities
examining path-based data that tracks the sequence of pages through the
site.
Pert uses both session and persistent cookies to automatically collect
general website traffic information, for example:
your server or IP address (the name or number which uniquely identifies
the computer through which you are connected to the internet)
the address of the referring site (for example, the previous site visited)
the date and time of a visit
the top-level domain name (for instance .gov, .org, .uk, .au)
the address of the pages accessed and the documents downloaded.
This information is compiled into statistics (for example, total page
visits, most visited pages, most common entry page) that are used to evaluate
the quality of the website's content and services. No attempt will be
made to identify individual users or their browsing activities except,
in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency
may exercise a warrant to inspect Pert's internet service logs.
Control over cookies is browser based. You can set you browser to refuse
cookies, and you can use tools/options or preferences to delete cookies
whenever you choose.
